The Colorado State University College of Health and Human Sciences will confer undergraduate degrees at a commencement ceremony on Friday, December 16, at 7 p.m., in Moby Arena. Anne Van Arsdall, director of undergraduate advising in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies will give the Charge to the Class. Chair of the Board of Governors of the Colorado State University System William E. Mosher will confer the degrees. Daniele Croteau, apparel and merchandising graduate and recipient of the Albert C. Yates Student Leadership Award, will be the student speaker. Jeff McCubbin, dean of the College of Health and Human Sciences, will welcome guests and present the degree candidates. Col. (Ret.) Peter Bleich, U.S. Army ROTC, will announce the newly commissioned officers. Gabe Dunbar ('11) will welcome the new graduates to the Alumni Association. Associate Dean for Academic Programs Dale DeVoe will emcee at the ceremony.
Daniele Thayer Croteau -- Student Speaker
Croteau is a magna cum laude candidate, graduating with a B.S. in apparel and merchandising, and dual minors in mathematics and business administration. As a student, she served the CSU chapter of Fashion Group International as president for two years, led the group's Recycled Fashion Show, and presented her Honors research thesis at CSU's Celebration of Undergraduate Research and Creativity and at the International Textile and Apparel Association conference. She was this year's recipient of the Albert C. Yates Student Leadership Award from the CSU Alumni Association. She is a Fort Collins native, and the third member of her family to graduate from CSU.
Anne Van Arsdall -- Charge to the Class (pictured)
Van Arsdall was selected as the 2015-2016 Outstanding Adviser for the College of Health and Human Sciences. She started at CSU in 2000 in the Career Center, and joined the Department of Human Development and Family Studies in 2005. She is credited with building the infrastructure of HDFS advising and overseeing the advising team for one of CSU's largest undergraduate majors.
Gabe Dunbar ('11) -- Welcome to the Alumni Association
Dunbar grew up in Fort Collins and graduated with a B.S. in construction management in 2011. During his senior year at CSU, he accepted an internship with Saunders Construction and continued with Saunders full time after graduation. He has since been a part of many exciting projects in the Rocky Mountain region. Dunbar met his wife Caitlin in Parmelee Hall during their freshman year at CSU and they currently live in Denver. He enjoys being outdoors, CSU athletics, traveling, and spending time with family. He and Caitlin serve on the College of Health and Human Sciences Emerging Leaders Council.
