Minor in Construction Management About the Program
I feel like I am a part of something meaningful, valuable, and purposeful. As an Interior Architecture + Design major, the information gained through the CM minor perfectly supplements my major by providing me with the technical knowledge of the construction industry.
The Construction Management minor provides students with foundational knowledge in topics such as construction document reading, structural engineering analysis, and design, project estimation, scheduling, and contracts. The minor works well with and provides a competitive advantage to students pursuing majors such as business, engineering, interior architecture and design, and horticulture and landscape architecture.
The CM minor is composed of nine courses for a total of 25 credits and will require a two and a half year commitment to complete.
Interested students should contact the CM Advising Office at (970) 491-7354 to schedule an appointment, during which an adviser will provide an override to add CON 101, which is restricted to declared majors and minors. Students wishing to pursue the minor need to have:
- a cumulative CSU GPA of 2.75
- complete CON 101 with a B or better
- complete CON 150 with a B or better
- complete MATH 125 with a C or better
Upon completion of these requirements, students will automatically be accepted into the CM minor and will be able to register for additional required CON courses. Students are admitted each semester in May and December.
