How to earn the 9-credit Certificate
Complete our Graduate Certificate in Human Centered Design Thinking online concurrent or outside of your graduate studies through just five courses!
Start with IDEA 510 – Processes of Human-Centered Design Thinking, three-credits – as an introduction to theoretical concepts, philosophies, and psychosocial processes associated with design thinking. Experience how design thinking facilitates understanding, identifies and manages societal issues, and communicates to diverse communities.
In IDEA 520 – Research Methods for Human-Centered Design Thinking, three-credits – you’ll focus on problem-finding and user testing with research methods used across disciplines.
Choose three or more of our one-credit mixed reality electives (IDEA 525) to complete the certificate’s 9-credits. These courses dive into trends of virtual, augmented, and mixed reality technologies as immersive storytelling tools. Explore further into inclusive design, data visualization, and/or prototyping apps or games!
