Our Lab
In our lab, we are passionate about addressing core Grand Challenges for Social Work by improving individual and family well-being and providing socially just resources to parents and children.

Dr. Samantha Brown – Director
In the Parent-Child Relationships & Well-being Lab, our mission is to enhance relationships, health, and well-being among children and families exposed to adversity and to provide children and families with additional supports and resources to help them thrive. We aim to advance understanding of the biobehavioral pathways, such as stress physiology and sleep, that shape child development and parent-child interactions. We also work to develop and test family-oriented and mindfulness-informed interventions to promote positive outcomes for children and families with multifaceted needs, including those at risk for maltreatment or experiencing poverty.
