Quota
Our student computer labs take part in the central Colorado State University PaperCut printing system. Any student, faculty, or staff member associated with the college (majors, minors, and non-majors enrolled in College of Health and Human Sciences classes) can print to the lab printers, assuming they have the requisite print quota to do so. College of Health and Human Sciences majors are given $5.00 in print quota at the beginning of each fall and spring semester, and quota rolls over from semester to semester. Non-majors don’t pay the college Charge for Technology and therefore are not given the $5.00 quota.
Adding Quota
Any lab user can add funds to his/her PaperCut account by following the steps below:
- Create a RamCash account or add funds to an existing RamCash account by visiting the RamCash office in the LSC or RamCash online.
- From a lab computer, log in to “PaperCut Printing” with your eID credentials.
- From the left-hand menu in your PaperCut printing account, click “Add Credit”.
- Your username or number, current printing balance, and current card balance will be displayed. Click the arrow in the “Amount to Transfer” field and choose the transfer amount.
- Click “Add Value”. This action transfers funds from your card balance and refreshes the current balance available for printing.
- Click “Log Out” from your account menu to end the session.
Note: Print quota can be applied towards any lab/location (such as the library or Behavioral Sciences Building) that uses central PaperCut, assuming you’re already allowed to log in to the computer itself.
Transferring Quota
It’s possible to transfer your quota to any other user in the PaperCut system by following the steps below:
- From a lab computer, log in to “PaperCut Printing” with your eID credentials.
- From the left-hand menu in your PaperCut printing account, click “Transfers”.
- Enter the amount to transfer and the eID username of the party you wish to transfer quota to.
- Click “Transfer” when ready. Warning: You will not be asked for confirmation. Clicking Transfer will immediately submit the transaction.
- Click “Log Out” from your account menu to end the session.
Note: The college is not responsible for fixing any mistakes made by users when transferring funds.
Print Costs
Print costs for the college computer lab printers/plotters vary based on printer type and paper size, and are subject to change. Color LaserJet toner is much more expensive than that of the black and white LaserJet. Lab users are encouraged to only print in color when absolutely necessary, and to be mindful of the negative impact printing has on the environment.

Refunds
If a print job goes wrong (damaged, unreadable, or of insufficient quality) and you wish to request a refund, follow the steps below. Note: You may NOT request a refund for print jobs sent by another person using your account if you forgot to log out of the computer.
- The first step is to IMMEDIATELY give the bad print job to the lab assistant on duty. Failure to do so will result in denial of your refund request. If there is no lab assistant on duty, hold onto the bad print job and return within one business day when someone is there.
- The lab assistant will then ask for your RamCard and an explanation of what happened.
- Next, log into a lab machine (if not already) and find and click on the “PaperCut” icon in the system tray (bottom right corner of the screen).
- Click the “Details” link in the lower right corner of the PaperCut window.
- Sign in with your eID credentials.
- Click the “Recent Print Jobs” link on the left.
- Find the print job that you would like to be refunded and click the “Request Refund” link to the left of the print job.
- Fill out the “Refund Request” form. Select either full or partial (if you can use some pages of the print job) refund and an amount if partial. You MUST fill out the “Reason for Request” box and describe exactly what went wrong and how many pages of the print job were bad. Failure to do so will result in automatic denial of your refund request. Click the “Send” button when ready.
- Requests will be reviewed in a timely manner. You can check the status by clicking the “Transaction History” link on the left of the PaperCut system page. If your request was approved, it should show up there.
