Helping Children, Adults, and Families Understand the Impact of Trauma
Our Trauma and Resilience Assessments help identify how traumatic experiences may be affecting a person’s emotional, behavioral, social, and developmental well-being. Using a strengths-based, resilience-focused approach, we assess both challenges and protective factors to provide recommendations that support healing, growth, and long-term success.
Assessments are available for children, adolescents, and adults and can help inform treatment planning, service coordination, educational supports, and family decision-making.

Who Can Benefit from an Assessment?
A Trauma and Resilience Assessment may be helpful for individuals who:
- Have experienced trauma, abuse, neglect, loss, or significant adversity
- Are involved with child welfare, foster care, or family services
- Need support identifying appropriate treatment or services
- Are experiencing emotional, behavioral, relationship, or school-related challenges
- Would benefit from a deeper understanding of how trauma may be affecting their well-being
Referrals are accepted from families, caseworkers, therapists, schools, healthcare providers, legal professionals, and other community partners.
What We Assess
Our assessments evaluate:
- The impact of trauma on current functioning
- Emotional, behavioral, and social well-being
- Individual and family strengths
- Resilience and protective factors
- Support systems and resources
- Recommendations for treatment, services, and ongoing support
What to Expect
Information Gathering
With appropriate consent, we gather information from the individual, caregivers, family members, caseworkers, therapists, teachers, and other key supports to better understand strengths, needs, and experiences.
Assessment
The assessment includes screening tools, questionnaires, and a psychosocial interview. Most assessments take approximately 2 to 3 hours.
Review and Recommendations
Following the assessment, the assessor reviews findings and recommendations with the individual and family. A comprehensive written report is then provided to the family or referring agency.
The report includes:
- Assessment findings
- Trauma-informed recommendations
- Strengths and resilience factors
- Suggested supports and services
- Strategies to promote healing and well-being
