Linda L. Carlson Classroom
The Linda L. Carlson Classroom (Room 157) is named in honor of the museum’s retired former curator, Linda L. Carlson. This space in the Avenir Museum building serves as formal teaching and learning space for CSU students enrolled in upper-division and graduate coursework such as Historic Textiles (AM363), Historic Costume (AM460), and Care and Exhibition of Museum Collections (DM563). Its spacious capacity also welcomes campus and community patron attendance at evening and weekend programs related to each semester’s gallery exhibits.
Avenir Museum Reading and Seminar Room with Reference Library
This noncirculating reference library space features primary and secondary sources on the history of apparel, fashion designers, global textiles, weaving, dyeing, and many other areas of inquiry. Appointments for access and use by both CSU and regional community members are scheduled through the Avenir Museum; please note that materials may not be checked out nor leave the building.
Research Access
Advance appointments to access Collections Storage may be made by researchers for academic inquiry or other purpose approved by the Curator/Collections Manager.
Your research credentials must be presented and approved by the Curator/Collections Manager before a reservation is confirmed and put on the research appointment calendar.
There is no charge for approved research appointments; credit to the Avenir Museum, Department of Design and Merchandising, Colorado State University is expected.
