Infant/Toddler Spaces
The ECC has one infant room and two toddler rooms. In our infant room, we serve infants between the ages of six weeks to 12 months. The room has big, beautiful windows and lots of space and materials for the infants to explore. When infants become toddlers and have mastered walking, they transition to the younger toddler room. They have more space to move around. A fun thing about these spaces is that they have a drinking fountain at their level. One-year-olds love being able to access water themselves. Two-year-olds move to the older toddler room. As toddlers become more independent, they get lots of fun, new learning, including lots of support for toilet learning.
Preschooler Spaces
The ECC has four pre-school classrooms. We have two classrooms for children ages two and a half to four-years-old. In the preschool classrooms, we offer expanded opportunities to discover independence. Children who are four years and older, move into the older pre-school classrooms. In these rooms, we offer more advanced experiences to support the upcoming transition to kindergarten.
Indoor Open Spaces
Something unique about the ECC is the Freeberg Family Library and Parent Resource Center. This is a library and resource center with hundreds of new books for our littlest Rams and their families. We also have a gym where children can play in a fun indoor supportive learning environment.
Outdoor Spaces
Following our Reggio Emilia-inspired approach, our outdoor spaces are intentionally designed for exploration and inquiry. Highlights of our outdoor spaces include a musical garden, a painting wall, climbing logs, a tire tunnel, a building zone, a sand zone, a playground, a basketball court, and so much more.
