Why choose the Human Development and Family Studies Accelerated Program?
We are excited to provide an alternative to a four-year Human Development and Family Studies degree. Interested and highly motivated students who want to engage in summer learning can complete the degree in three years.
There are many benefits of pursuing an accelerated program but it’s not for everyone. Students who graduate in three years will need to invest in summer tuition, fees, and related expenses, but may reduce their overall educational expenses and have the opportunity to earn a professional salary earlier, which can significantly enhance lifetime earnings.
Graduates from our program find fulfilling careers in:
- Early childhood education
- Social services
- Public health
- Nonprofits
- Human resources
Our accelerated program includes summer study and does not require students to take more than 15-16 credits each fall and spring semester for three years, plus six-nine credits over three summers. The variety of the summer terms include 4, 8, and 12-week semesters as well as weekend courses. Online and hybrid courses are also available.
Accelerated programs are available to new degree-seeking CSU students.
