Youth Sport Camps Camp Descriptions
The Youth Sport Camps are an eleven-week day-camp program of sports activities for children ages five through 13. Camps run from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday.
Below are brief descriptions of the camps we offer this summer
- Sport Camps are one–week sessions. We offer baseball/softball, basketball, field sports, inline hockey, lacrosse, soccer, and volleyball.
- FunLIFE Camp – Learning to Improve Fitness and Eating camp again this year, which combines sports and physical activity with healthy lessons and curriculum.
- Music and Movement which combines aerobic dance, rhythms, and martial arts movement with music.
- Sport Science Camp – Ever wonder how a curveball curves? How your brain and muscles talk to each other? How your muscles help you move? Why you feel better after you exercise? Join us and explore these questions as we explore the science involved in sport and exercise (ages 10 and up, please).
- Super Sport Camp, a traditional day-camp program that is offered in two-week sessions. The Super Sport Camp includes a focus activity (basketball/volleyball, soccer, baseball/softball, team/field sports, and track and field), plus group activities, swim lessons, and field trips.
- Outdoor Adventure Camp is designed for our older campers to help them experience some of what Colorado has to offer in outdoor activities. Depending on weather, our anticipated activities include bicycling, hiking, geo-caching, exploring, and other outdoor pursuits. Due to the off-campus activities, this camp is open only to those campers aged 10 and over.
- Smart Fit Girls, based on a popular program and designed for adolescent girls. For more information on this program, please visit the Smart Fit Girls website.
- Tennis is a morning-only camp (8 – 10 a.m.).
- Golf is a morning camp from 8 – 10 a.m. at the City Park Nine.
Please note: All camps are strategically designed to be both progressive and independent. This means that campers can sign up for one or several sessions of the same activity, and campers will progress through a series of groups as they advance in skill level. It is not necessary to sign up for Session 1 of a sport before you sign up for Session 2. They are numbered chronologically, not progressively.
All camps will be full-day sessions held from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. daily. Campers can arrive after 8:30 a.m. and must be picked up by 4:30 p.m. Tennis and golf campers should arrive at 7:55 a.m. and depart by 10:10 a.m. All campers can utilize our before- and after-camp care program, which is available at both facilities (South College and Moby) from 7:30 – 9 a.m. and 4 – 5:30 p.m. The additional cost for day care is $5 per visit per child. *Payment is required the same day before/after care is needed, or in advance.
Campers should bring a water bottle and sunscreen every day, and a sack lunch Monday–Thursday. Pizza will be provided for lunch on Fridays.
