Summer 2019 Announcement
Due to maintenance issues in the Moby pool, it is unlikely that we will be able to offer free swim this summer for our Moby-based camps. We will, obviously, provide quality programming, but the campers will be unlikely to be in the pool at all. Please keep this in mind as you make your summer plans. Thanks for your understanding.
Youth Sports Camps Our Programs
Started in 1970, the Colorado State University Youth Sport Camps are a summer-long series of active lifestyle camps in Fort Collins, Colorado. We feature 16 different summer camp programs throughout the summer season, ranging from specific sport training camps (such as baseball camps, basketball camps, inline hockey camps, lacrosse camps, soccer camps, softball camps, tennis camps, and volleyball camps) to multi-activity camps like music and movement (dance, martial arts, aerobics, and gymnastics camps), Super Sport (swim lessons, field trips, and health sport-specific programming), FunLIFE (health and nutrition camps), and Sport Science. We welcome anyone interested in our summer camps, and we hope to assist the children in the community with discovering healthy lifestyles!
A Glimpse into Your Child’s Summer
Youth Sport Camps Program Overview
The Youth Sport Camps are an eleven-week day-camp program of sports activities for children between the ages of 5 and 13. The 2019 camp season runs from May 28 – August 16. Camps run from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
One-week sessions are offered in baseball/softball, basketball, field sports, inline hockey, lacrosse, soccer, volleyball.
In addition, we feature our FunLIFE (Learning to Improve Fitness and Eating) camp again this year, which combines sports and physical activity with healthy lessons and curriculum.
This summer, we also feature Music and Movement which combines aerobic dance, rhythms, and martial arts movement with music.
Continuing this year is our Sport Science camp! Ever wonder how a curveball curves? How your brain and muscles talk to each other? How your muscles help you move? Why you feel better after you exercise? Join us and explore these questions as we explore the science involved in sport and exercise (ages 10 and up, please).
As always, we will be featuring our Super Sport Camp, which is a traditional day-camp program that is offered in two-week sessions. The Super Sport Camp includes a focus activity (basketball/volleyball, soccer, baseball/softball, team/field sports, and track and field), plus group activities, swim lessons, and field trips.
The Outdoor Adventure Camp is designed for our older campers to help them experience some of what Colorado has to offer in outdoor activities. Depending on weather, our anticipated activities include bicycling, hiking, geo-caching, exploring, and other outdoor pursuits. Due to the off-campus activities, this camp is open only to those campers aged 10 and over.
Our newest camp is Smart Fit Girls, based on the popular program and designed for adolescent girls. For more information on this program, please visit the Smart Fit Girls website.
Returning this year is Tennis, which is a morning-only camp (8-10 a.m.). Golf, which will be held from 8-10 a.m. at the Fort Collins Country Club.
Please note: All camps are strategically designed to be both progressive and independent. This means that campers can sign up for one or several sessions of the same activity, and campers will progress through a series of groups as they advance in skill level. It is not necessary to sign up for Session 1 of a sport before you sign up for Session 2. They are numbered chronologically, not progressively.
All camps will be full-day sessions held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Campers can arrive after 8:30 a.m. and must be picked up by 4:30 p.m. Tennis and golf campers should arrive at 7:55 a.m. and depart by 10:10 a.m. All campers can utilize our before- and after-camp care program, which is available at both facilities (South College and Moby) from 7:30-9 a.m. and 4-5:30 p.m. The additional cost for day care is $5 per visit per child. *Payment is required the same day before/after care is needed, or in advance.
Campers should bring a water bottle and sunscreen every day, and a sack lunch Monday–Thursday. Pizza will be provided for lunch on Fridays.
