Center for Community Partnerships About the Bridge Program
Bridge is a two-day, early move-in transition program for incoming CSU students with learning differences and their families. Bridge begins on August 11th, in room 103 of the Occupational Therapy Bldg. The morning will include presentations from peer mentors and staff followed by lunch and early move-in. August 12th will feature presentations from CSU student service offices, tours, and breakout sessions for students and families. Students will also have the option of attending social activities with Student Leaders later in the week. Offered through CSU’s Center for Community Partnerships (CCP) in the Department of Occupational Therapy, Bridge helps acclimate new students to higher education and campus life and connects participating students to the Opportunities for Postsecondary Success program (OPS). Bridge enrollees take part in the program in small groups according to individual needs and interests. Facilitated by CCP staff and peer mentors, Bridge offers:
- Personalized tours to locate your classes, dining options, activities, places to study, and campus resources
- Information and tips on self-advocacy for your college success
- Guidance on how to use academic accommodations through the SDC
- Early residence hall move-in on 8/11 before general move-in begins on 8/12.
- Opportunities to meet new friends and learn from peer leaders who have been through the Bridge and OPS programs
- Connection to ongoing support through the Opportunities for Postsecondary Success (OPS) program
