2025-26 Virtual Senior Show

This virtual show features the Interior Architecture and Design capstone projects. The 60,000 -100,000 sq. ft. projects represent research-based design, illustrating students’ competency in designing complex, large-scale interior environments and practicing through varied discussions with attention to contemporary social and cultural issues and paradigms facing the profession.

Rooted Transitional Housing Community

This transitional housing project supports individuals experiencing homelessness through safe, restorative environments. The design emphasizes biophilic strategies, sensory comfort, and trauma-informed principles to promote healing, stability, and social good, fostering long-term resilience within a supportive, community-centered framework.

The Current Boutique Hotel

This project proposes an inclusively designed boutique hotel in Denver, CO, that redefines hospitality by prioritizing mental and physical accessibility. Exceeding ADA standards, the design integrates Universal Design, Sensory awareness, Attention Restoration Theory, and Biophilic Design to create a space that fosters independence, well-being, and equitable experiences for all users.

The Franklin Music Center

The Franklin Music Center connects generations through music, exploration, and learning. Its inclusive, multisensory spaces support well-being, evoke memory, and reduce stereotypes. Designed as a welcoming, judgment-free environment, the center encourages self-expression, strengthens relationships, and demonstrates music’s power to engage, heal, and unite all ages.

The Collective

The Collective is an interdisciplinary, trauma-informed design responding to the physical, emotional, and economic needs of women, particularly survivors of intimate partner violence. Located in Loveland, Colorado, it integrates interior architecture and social equity through a shelter, healthcare clinic, and career hub, demonstrating the transformative power of intentional design.

Rising Peaks

Rising Peaks is a recovery housing and community center designed to support individuals recovering from substance use disorder. Community and support are central to the healing process, and the space is designed to foster both meaningful community engagement and private, individualized recovery.

The Willow Apartments

The Willow Apartments is an affordable housing project for families, emphasizing dignity, stability, and connection. Guided by DEIJ principles, the design incorporates biophilic strategies, adaptable living units, and shared community spaces, showing how interior architecture can support everyday living, well-being, and long-term housing solutions.

The Lee Plaza Performing Arts Center

The Lee Plaza Performing Arts Center explores the adaptive reuse of the historic Lee Plaza Hotel in Detroit. Guided by the concept of chrysalis, the project examines how architecture and interior environments can actively support healing, safety, and personal transformation. Through thoughtful space planning, materiality, and design, the building becomes a protective environment that supports youth by offering mental health services and the opportunity to grow and express themselves.

Bloom

Bloom is a health center supporting women, especially single mothers, through every stage of motherhood. Combining medical care, mental health services, childcare, education, and short-term housing, the project addresses gaps in women’s care through a home-like environment that promotes dignity, healing, resilience, and growth.

The Redstone Academy

The Redstone Academy redefines educational facilities into a secure, future-ready learning environment. This is where a branching network of networked pathways and adaptive spaces supports faculty and hypersensitive students with predictability, concentration, and interaction.

The Landing

The Landing reimagines the homeless shelter as a safe, supportive environment rather than an emergency facility. Located in Lakewood, Colorado, the project integrates housing, services, and education under one roof. This shelter empowers residents, promotes independence, and supports healing, dignity, and reintegration into daily life

The Evergreen Sustainability Center

Located within three historic buildings on the CSU Fort Collins campus, this sustainability education center features classrooms, offices, and a community center. It addresses outdated infrastructure, limited sustainability education, and student mental health. By utilizing nature, hands-on learning, and community engagement, the center supports well-being and environmental literacy.

Embody Fitness

Embody Fitness is a human-centered wellness facility designed for users of all ages and experience levels. The project prioritizes inclusivity, comfort, and functionality through thoughtful planning, natural light, and adaptable spaces, creating a welcoming environment that supports both physical movement and mental well-being.

The Graham Performing Arts Center

The Graham Performing Arts Center weaves together artistic expression and community. Designed to uplift foster and adoption youth and their support systems, it blends performance spaces with community programs. Thoughtful color and material application create comfort, fostering connection among users, their environment, and one another—building resilience, belonging, and hope.

Resonance

Resonance is a multi-level nightlife experience in downtown Austin designed to foster authentic social interaction. Each floor offers a distinct atmosphere shaped around connection, immersion, fulfillment, and security, creating an environment where guests can gather, engage, and build meaningful relationships in a world increasingly dominated by technology.

Bounce Back

This project is a community wellness and recovery center that supports mental, physical, and emotional health. Open to the public, it provides spaces for therapy, counseling, nourishment, and sensory recovery, encouraging balance, resilience, and healthy habits through adaptable, movement-driven design

Nest & Nurture Pregnancy Center

The Nest & Nurture Pregnancy Center is a facility that provides support to pregnant women and new mothers in a rural, low-income area. The center offers community resources, an obstetrics clinic, and temporary dwelling units for pregnant women and new mothers needing a secure place to stay.

Desert Bloom

Desert Bloom is an adaptive reuse capstone project located in Yuma, Arizona, that reimagines the historic John M. Roll Courthouse as a transitional housing and workforce development center. The design prioritizes trauma-informed and evidence-based strategies to create supportive environments that promote healing, self-sufficiency, and personal growth.

Zenith MS Institute

Zenith MS Institute is a Multiple Sclerosis resource center in Colorado Springs supporting individuals, families, and caregivers. The institute unites healthcare, wellness, and community services in one integrated environment. Grounded in mental, physical, and social well-being, Zenith empowers users to manage symptoms, access care, build connections, and live confidently daily.

Wellnest Rehabilitation

Wellnest Rehabilitation reimagines the Shaw Cancer Center as a trauma-informed residential recovery community for adults navigating addiction. Guided by evidence-based design and the Phoenix journey of rebirth, spaces move from grounding to nesting to flight, using acoustics, controlled daylight, and nature connection. Color and materials become wayfinding, choice, and hope

Midtown Veterinary Wellness and Housing Center

This multi-purpose project combines a community veterinary clinic with housing above, creating a shared environment centered on care, safety, and connection. Guided by evidence-based research, the design prioritizes animal and human comfort through restorative materials, clear circulation, and spaces that support healing, trust, and everyday well-being.

Horizon House

Horizon House is a foster care community center in Yuma, Arizona, serving foster youth, young adults aging out of care, and foster parents. The center provides education, mental health support, housing resources, mentorship, and training while fostering connection, empowerment, and a strong support network.

Sand and Sky Resort

Hidden in the canyon walls of the Wadi Rum desert, this eco-resort aims to bring a more sustainable approach to tourism and the hospitality industry in the area. Learning from the ancient Nabataeans, this resort combines ancient techniques and modern technology to create a comfortable and enjoyable user experience.

The Reflection Retreat

The Reflection Retreat is a proposed wellness center that reimagines eating disorder care through an inclusive, evidence-based, human-centered design approach. Focused on young women, who are disproportionately affected, the project addresses both clinical needs and social determinants of health. It responds to gaps in existing healthcare systems, particularly for marginalized communities.

Le Désert Doré

Le Désert Doré is a luxury wellness-focused hospitality project designed to promote restoration, balance, and holistic well-being. Located in Phoenix, Arizona, the project blends French, Mediterranean, and Southwestern influences to create a warm, immersive environment inspired by the golden desert light.

Evergreen Rehabilitation Center

The Evergreen Rehabilitation Center represents an opportunity to design an environment that truly supports recovery, independence, and long-term health. The center creates a space where patients and caregivers feel supported, motivated, and empowered. Spaces are intentionally created to encourage participation in therapy, reduce environmental stressors, and support emotional well-being.

Lotus Hospice Center

Lotus Hospice Center is a senior capstone project that reimagines end-of-life care through human-centered, hospitality-informed interior architecture. Adaptively reusing a coastal resort in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, the design prioritizes dignity, emotional well-being, and comfort for terminally ill cancer patients, their families, and healthcare professionals.

The Social Wellness Club

The social wellness club reimagines how people gather in downtown Boston by framing wellness as a shared journey. Through layered spaces that move between solitude, reflection, and connection, the project creates a new third place where personal well-being and collective belonging coexist.

Casa Serenidad

Casa Serenidad is an adaptive-reuse hospitality project located in Zapopan, Mexico. Rooted in hacienda traditions and biophilic design, the project promotes mental well-being, cultural authenticity, and environmental responsibility through passive strategies, pet-inclusive spaces, and community-oriented programming.

Faye Properties

Faye Properties is a new home builder located in Austin, Texas. This facility guides clientele through the building process and continues to nurture them as valued customers even after their home is complete. The in-house model home, design studio, and childcare options are unique selling points of Faye Properties.

KOMO Human Support Center

The KOMO Human Support Center focuses on designing a compassionate, inclusive environment that supports student wellness. Addressing barriers to access to care, multiple modes of care, and evidence-based design. The space integrates calming materials, natural light, and thoughtful spatial organization to foster dignity, comfort, and emotional support for students.

Somatic Thread Drug Rehabilitation Center

Somatic Thread Drug Rehabilitation Center reframes recovery as a holistic, trauma-informed and community-driven process. The design supports non-linear healing by providing spaces that nurture connection, creative expression, and personal growth while centering dignity, well-being, and a supportive environment for individuals to grow and heal.

The Apricity Refuge Project

The Apricity Refuge project is a nonprofit resource and transitional housing center located at 171 S Jackson St, Seattle, WA 98104. This project aims to serve the rapidly increasing unhoused population of Seattle by providing resources and programs geared towards aiding in transitioning individuals out of homelessness.

Platte Wellness Center

Platte Wellness Center is a community-focused health and wellness facility in Denver’s Five Points District. Addressing disparities in physical, nutritional, and mental health, it provides equitable access to wellness resources through evidence-based design, sustainable practices, and inclusive programs that support individual and community wellbeing.

Alamosa

Alamosa is meant to break the social norms of typical education. It is simple in nature. It serves as an empty canvas to help society further understand each other and more specifically neurodivergent minds. Sparking curiosity and limiting distractions. Promoting a more diverse leaning environment.

The Locus Wellness Hotel

The Locus Wellness Hotel was created for a hospitality experience that integrates wellness principles into every aspect of a guests journey, offering a peaceful retreat reconnecting visitors with nature and themselves. Serving as a retreat from the busy life in New York City, where users can come and restore themselves.

The Houston Literacy Center

The Houston Literacy Center is a civic, community-based project addressing low literacy rates across Houston. Serving a culturally and linguistically diverse population, the proposed 62,000-square-foot center supports youth and adult learners through equitable, literacy-focused resources and programming within an inclusive, dignified environment grounded in active learning principles.

Pawsitive Place

Pawsitive Place is a canine multi-use and community center guided by Interbeing, recognizing the interconnectedness of humans, animals, and environments. The project reimagines traditional animal-care facilities, replacing sterile, disconnected spaces with thoughtful, shared environments that support canine well-being and human mental health through sensory-conscious design for both species

Whispering Moss Boutique Hotel

The Whispering Moss Boutique Hotel, located in Fort Myers Beach, Florida, is designed to offer a calming, sensory-friendly experience for neurodivergent guests by addressing common challenges like sensory overload, unpredictable layouts, and limited environmental control. Its goal is to create a more personalized, low-stress stay that promotes comfort and security.

Crescere at Bridgepoint

Crescere at Bridgepoint is an adaptive reuse project that reimagines an existing commercial office building as a community-focused mixed-use environment. The design intentionally locates food systems, such as on-site vertical agriculture, adjacent to residential and dining spaces to strengthen occupants’ awareness of and connection to food production.

Villa Papiri

Villa Papiri is a safe, secure Alzheimer’s care community focused on community connection, healing, and memory repair. By rethinking inpatient living and strengthening bonds with the outside world, the environment supports physical engagement while naturally enhancing residents’ mental and emotional well-being.

The Pediatric Rehabilitation Center of Philadelphia

The Pediatric Rehabilitation Center of Philadelphia uses a design-forward, evidence-based approach to transform clinical spaces into home-like environments, reducing emotional distress for children and families. Guided by the Conduit concept, rehabilitation becomes a living circuit of shared energy, informed by attention-restoration and prospect-refuge theories to enhance comfort, connection, and healing.

The Heart of Healing

The Heart of Healing is a chronic illness treatment and research center in Norfolk, Virginia. Inspired by the water lily, it bridges holistic and scientific care, offering adaptable spaces that support body, mind, and spirit while fostering compassion, connection, and hope for underserved patients.

Otero Cancer Treatment and Recovery Center

Located in Mallorca, Spain, the Otero Cancer Treatment and Recovery Center advances healthcare design by using the physical environment to promote healing. This space is meant to give the patients a similar feeling they would experience on vacation, even though they are there to receive treatment or recovery services.

Pothos Park

Pothos Park is an affordable co-housing complex that redevelops an underutilized building as a supportive, community-centered living environment. The project is fully ADA, prioritizing accessibility, dignity, and inclusivity throughout all spaces. Through sustainability and shared resources, it encourages connection, well-being, and adaptable residential living.

Earthship

Earthship is a floating mixed use development including restaurants, galleries, townhomes, and a nightclub. The principles of the project were to leverage existing shipping infrastructure combined with a modular construction system to replace land lost to climate change, building in renewable energy production in doing so, while creating naturalistic spaces.

Alma María Foundation

This institution-focused project explores a wellness and recovery center for single mothers and children. The design prioritizes healing, dignity, and stability through trauma-informed research, evidence-based design strategies, and spatial sequences that support restoration, autonomy, and long-term resilience

Thrive Autism Resource Center

Thrive Autism Resource Center offers predictable, low-stress sensory experiences. The center supports therapeutic services, educational enrichment, social development, and life-skills training. Material cues, controlled acoustics, and quiet retreats promote intuitive navigation, regulation, inclusion, independence, and engagement for children and young adults with autism.

Lotus House

Lotus House is a Cohousing Community located in Los Angeles’ Chinatown, providing housing and economic opportunity for low-income Asian American residents while fostering cultural identity, user growth, and intergenerational connection. Independence and community engagement are integrated, reinforcing user wellbeing through materiality, zoning, and interaction. Rooted in heritage, Blooming in community.

Arbor Academy

Inspired by my experience as an older sister to a sibling with autism, this project applies four years of Revit and design training to propose a thoughtful, inclusive architectural solution.

The Nest Hotel and Recovery Center

The Nest Hotel & Recovery Center, located in Austin, Texas, reimagines hospitality for college athletes. The hotel integrates spaces that support athletic performance, academic focus, mental well-being, and physical recovery. The project elevates the student athlete experience by fostering effective recovery, sustained performance, and overall well-being through thoughtful, evidence-based design.

Echoes in Renewal

Echoes in Renewal is a healthcare-focused capstone project located in Portland, Oregon. The design transforms an existing building into an integrated eating disorder and physical health center, using trauma-informed and biophilic strategies to create supportive, dignified environments that promote healing, resilience, and long-term well-being.

U.S. Embassy in Stokholm, Sweden

The theoretical redesign of the U.S. Embassy in Stockholm, Sweden, aims to harmonize all involved cultures to create a welcoming and safe user experience. This is done by designing with Swedish and American elements in conversation with one another alongside bold and sustainable design decisions.

Arcadia West

Arcadia West is a regenerative events center located in Encino, CA. Focused on creating a sustainable experience for the user. The rain garden and other sustainable elements make this design both a gathering space and a learning experience for the occupant.

Lightline Church

Lightline Church strives to reimagine sacred architecture as an inclusive, community-centered support system in Aurora. Surrounded by a diverse population, the project responds to the needs of the church and the neighborhood by addressing critical issues facing churches, including the absence of accessible design and the rise in mental health concerns.

Root and Rise Wellness Center

The Root and Rise Wellness Center is a treatment and community space in Loveland that integrates mental health and holistic wellness services, including talk, art, and music therapy. It provides a supportive environment for individuals seeking wellness care, building community, and beginning or continuing their mental health journey.

Stepping Stones

Stepping Stones is a mental and physical rehabilitation center in Memphis, TN. I applied trauma-informed principles to support patients’ healing journeys through thoughtful, human-centered spaces. Guided by the concept of “Convalsense,” I emphasize sensory awareness, gradual transitions, and autonomy, creating a nurturing environment that fosters recovery, comfort, and resilience.
