Volunteer with HABIC

You and your animal share the ability to improve the life of someone in need. HABIC Volunteer Teams gain knowledge on the human-animal bond, develop skills around animal behavior and training, and work with their pets as HABIC-certified therapy animals.

HABIC trains and supports volunteer animal-assisted therapy teams that provide comfort, connection, and support to individuals in hospitals, schools, assisted living communities, and other community settings throughout Northern Colorado.

HABIC offers a graduate certificate through Colorado State University to equip working professionals with an understanding of the science behind human-animal interactions and how to leverage the human-animal bond to help populations they serve.

HABIC sponsors research studies that strengthen our programs, enhance volunteer support, and demonstrate the proven benefits of therapy animals to healthcare providers, educators, and community partners.
