School of Social Work 2021 Brad Sheafor Lecture
On March 10, the Brad Sheafor Lecture in Social Work, given by Dr. Michael Yellow Bird of the University of Manitoba on “Neurodecolonization and the Medicine Wheel: An Indigenous Approach to Healing the Traumas of Colonialism,” shared how Indigenous Peoples’ recovery from the traumas of colonialism can be healed by combining Indigenous and Western evidenced-based research and knowledge into the Medicine Wheel.
