EXcEEDS: Executive function early evaluation in Down syndrome
We’re studying the best ways to evaluate executive function skills in young children with Down syndrome. ‘Executive function’ skills are the thinking skills we use for problem-solving and planning. Children ages 2.5 to 8 years and their families are invited to participate. The results from this project will help researchers select the best ways to measure change in executive function skills in future intervention research.
What are we studying?
The Developmental Disabilities Research Lab is studying the best ways to measure Executive Function in young children with Down syndrome. ‘Executive function’ skills are the thinking skills we use for problem solving and planning.
How much time will this take?
Children will participate in eight 2-hour sessions or four 4-hour sessions over the course of one year. Caregivers will be asked to fill out questionnaires about their child’s development.
Who can participate? And where?
Children 2.5 to 8 years old with Down syndrome can take part. Children usually find our studies fun and a positive experience! Visits will take place at CSU’s Developmental Disabilities Research Lab in Fort Collins or near the Sie Center in Denver.
Who is doing this study?
Dr. Deborah Fidler and Dr. Lisa Daunhauer

Pay?
Families may receive up to $200 for time and effort.
