Human Development and Family Studies Early Health and Motor Abilities in Down Syndrome Study

We will ask your child to do playful activities to assess their motor abilities and overall development. Additionally, we will ask your child to wear a watch that measures activity and sleep at home.

Caregivers will be invited to complete questionnaires and can opt to wear a watch measuring activity and sleep.

We welcome children with Down syndrome, ages 18 months to 47 months, to be a part of this study. Our study activities are designed to be fun and children usually find our studies a positive experience! Visits can be scheduled in several locations including CSU’s Developmental Disabilities Research Lab in Fort Collins and sites in the Denver area.

Children will participate in approximately two 2-hour sessions (or one four-hour session) scheduled at your convenience. Families will have the opportunity to participate for up to three years in a row.

In between visits, children will be asked to wear the study watch at home and caregivers will be asked to complete questionnaires.

In appreciation for your time and effort, families may receive up to $100 per year for participation in this study.
