Experiential Learning Apparel and Merchandising Internships

Students in the Apparel and Merchandising undergraduate program are required to participate in a department-coordinated internship program that involves a full-time, 12-credit professional experience with nationally and internationally recognized firms and organizations in the apparel industry or a related field.
The internship is intended to provide students with an industry-relevant experience in design, product development, merchandising, sourcing, retailing, and promotions/public relations with supervision from industry professionals.
Students have participated in internships with companies including Dillard’s, Tommy Hilfiger, Nordstrom, The North Face, Nike, Kohl’s, Smartwool, URBN, and nonprofit organizations such as Ten Thousand Villages and Women in Progress. Students are required to have a GPA of 2.5 or higher in order to participate in the internship program.
