Basic obedience skills are required before starting HABIC Therapy Dog Training classes. HABIC also offers dog training classes open to everyone, including beginning obedience and other skill-building courses to help strengthen the bond between you and your dog.

Applications

HABIC Therapy Dog Volunteer

Apply to become a HABIC-certified therapy team with your dog! Complete a training class and final evaluation to prepare for therapy visits. Additional training may be required for specialized placements, such as weekly volunteering in schools or healthcare settings.

HABIC Dog Training

Want to build your dog’s skills without committing to volunteering? HABIC offers dog training classes for all experience levels, including beginning obedience and other skill-building courses. These classes are open to everyone and help strengthen the bond between you and your dog.

HABIC Therapy Cat Volunteer

Apply to become a HABIC-certified therapy animal team with your cat! HABIC’s Therapy Cat Class helps prepare you and your cat to provide comfort and support in a variety of settings. The class includes three individualized 45-minute sessions focused on building confidence, connection, and readiness for therapy work.

HABIC Human Volunteer

No animal? No problem! Apply to join HABIC as a human-only volunteer. Our human volunteers play an important role in supporting dog training classes, assisting with special events, and helping HABIC teams make a difference in the community.
