What can I expect on the first day? Moby Arena Camps
In the Morning
- Please ensure your child has a backpack with a lunch, snacks, water bottle, sunscreen, swimsuit, towel, and is wearing the appropriate clothing for their camp (see Packing List below for more information).
- All campers must check in at the registration desk in the hallway toward the east end of the building (follow signage). The registration line is busiest between 8:40 – 9 a.m., so we suggest arriving early.
- Campers must check in on the first day of each camp for every camp they attend throughout the summer.
- Medications should be dropped off with the registration desk staff, not a counselor. Administrative staff will do an intake of the medicine before handing it off to your child’s counselor (if need be).
- Once your child is checked in at the registration desk, you’ll be directed where to drop your child off. You don’t need to sign your child in with their counselor – we’ll be taking attendance right away at 9 a.m. when we fully split into the separate camps.
- Please note that all campers are in the large, eastern atrium until 8:30 a.m. At that time, campers will be led to their camp’s normal drop off location in Moby, which will be either the gym, aerobics room, large atrium, or small atrium (camp signs are posted at the entrance to each location). If you are dropping off before 8:30 a.m., your camper will be dropped off in the large atrium, and then be directed to their camp’s normal drop off location after 8:30 a.m.
- The staff wearing green polo shirts are the coordinators for each camp. If you have questions pertaining to the camp, please direct your questions to them at this time. If you have questions pertaining to payment or administrative topics, please direct your questions to the employees at the registration desk.
That’s it for Monday morning drop off! We’ll see you in the afternoon for pick up! We’re going to have a great day!

- At 4:30 p.m., our staff will lead all campers who have not been picked up to the large atrium to sign them into After Care.

For the rest of the week, if you’re dropping off after 8:30 a.m., you’ll drop your camper off at the same location you did pick up on Monday afternoon. -
- We have free parking available during drop off and pick up times in the northernmost row of the main Moby parking lot, the row closest to Plum St. The main Moby lot is located on the southeast corner of Shields St. and Plum St.

- We do not have free parking in the lot between Moby and Rec Center, nor in the HPCRL lot.
- Walk east along Plum St., turn south after the arena, enter through the double set of green doors.
-
Glenn Morris Field House Parking

- We have free parking available during drop off and pick up times in the Glenn Morris Field House lot (lot #335) off Mason St.
- Parking illegally in the handicap or special permit parking spots can lead to a ticket from Fort Collins PD or CSUPD.
-
Tennis Parking
-
-
- During drop off and pick up, parking is available for 15 minute increments in the adjacent lot.
-
Golf Parking
-
-
- Parking at the Country Club is free. Look for our Youth Sport Camps van.
-
Please note that due to the nature of the university, we do not have control over parking. We continuously work with CSU Parking Services to ensure parking for our patrons, but we must adhere to their regulations.
What about food?
- Campers must bring their own snacks and lunch Monday through Thursday each week.
- We suggest sending your campers with two snacks each day, and probably a little extra food too. They get hungry after so much movement!
- On Fridays, YSC will provide Krazy Karl’s pizza for all campers. Gluten free pizzas are available upon request, but camp staff must be notified by Wednesday of that camp week. Campers still need to bring their own snacks on Fridays.
My child has medications. How do we handle that?
- If your child has medications to bring from home that you would like staff to administer to your child, you’ll need to complete our Medication Release form, which can be found on the Forms section of our website.
- If your child is bringing an epinephrine auto-injector for a severe allergy, an anaphylaxis care plan is required. The care plan will be kept with the medication in case of an emergency. A copy of the anaphylaxis care plan form can be found under the Forms and Policies section of this website.
- If your child is bringing an inhaler, an asthma care plan is required. The care plan will be kept with the medication in case of an emergency. A copy of the asthma care plan form can be found under the Forms and Policies section of this website.
- Self-carrying of inhalers and epinephrine auto-injectors: please have your child keep their medication in a baggie that also contains the appropriate care plan for anaphylaxis or asthma. This could prove lifesaving if your child loses consciousness in a case of emergency.
- Medications, such as inhalers and epinephrine auto-injectors, may be left overnight at YSC. They’ll be locked in the appropriate office each night. If spending multiple weeks with us, you’re welcome to leave medications for the entirety of the summer. Each week we’ll ensure the medications are at the appropriate location with the appropriate staff.
- We don’t allow the use or possession of CBD or marijuana products at Youth Sport Camps, even if the product is being self-administered by the child.
Can my child bring electronic devices for use during downtime?
- Electronic device usage isn’t allowed during the normal camp hours of 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Campers are required to keep their cell phones, handheld video games, tablets, etc. in their backpacks for the camp day.
- These may be used from 7:30 – 8:30 a.m. in Before Care and from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. in After Care. However, the content must be appropriate or else our staff will ask the camper to put it away. Find out more on our Before and After Camp Care section on our Camp Details page.
- Cell phones may be used under the supervision of a staff member (ex. camper calling parent with staff supervision to ask about early pick up for appointment).
- Campers may store their devices in the office during the camp day, if they feel uncomfortable storing it in their backpacks.
- Standalone smart watches, such as Gizmo watches, are allowed, but we ask that campers inform staff before making any calls or texts. If a camper has an issue that they are contacting home about, it is not helpful when they immediately contact their parents instead of informing a counselor. This can lead to a lot of miscommunication.
What’s the swimming schedule? Does each camp include swim time?
- Swim time in the Moby pool will take place each afternoon for most of our Moby camps (Outdoor Adventure will miss some swim times due to their off-campus activities).
- Swim time for Volleyball and Super Sport in the South College pool will take place on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Super Sport’s swim time includes Red Cross swimming lessons provided by our certified lifeguards.
- Both the Moby and South College pool are indoors.
- FunLIFE visits City Park Pool once per session. The camp will walk to City Park Pool, so packing lightly is advised for this day. Families will be notified of this beforehand.
- All of our lifeguards are certified. We have multiple lifeguards on duty during all of our swim times. Camp counselors also swim with the campers to add extra supervision during swimming.
- Our indoor pools have shallower ends, but are not zero depth. If your camper is not a strong swimmer, we highly suggest sending them with a life jacket to give them more mobility in the pool. We have kickboards available, as well.
- Please note that flotation devices will be taken off during Super Sport’s swimming lessons. They will be very closely supervised and in close proximity to our lifeguards during this time. During free swim at the end of lessons, campers are more than welcome to wear their flotation devices again.
- Campers are allowed to bring small swim toys for swim time but are responsible for them at all times.
- We do not provide goggles.
- Campers will change in the locker rooms located at both sites. Individual bathroom stalls are available for changing. Campers are required to take a short shower in the individual shower stalls before entering the pool to remove the many layers of sunscreen. Our counselors are in the locker rooms to supervise and help younger children change, if need be.
What if I need to drop my child off early of pick up late?
- Our full-day camps are held from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. daily. Campers can arrive after 8:30 a.m. and must be picked up by 4:30 p.m. However, we offer a Before and After Care Program for those families that need their campers to spend a little extra time with us. All campers (except those only in Tennis and Golf) can utilize this program.
- The additional cost for this care is $5 per visit per child. (i.e. If both Before and After Care are utilized in the same day, the cost is $10 for that day.) Exact payment can be made upon drop-off or pick-up via cash or check, or the charge will be added to your online account the following week for payment via credit card.
- Before Care is from 7:30 – 8:30 a.m., at which time normal drop-off begins. Our staff will transition them to their normal camp.
- After Care is from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. Campers who are not picked up by 4:30 p.m. will automatically be signed into After Care. If a child is not picked up by the end of After Care at 5:30 p.m., there will be an additional charge of $10 for every 15 minutes after 5:30 p.m.
- Before and After Care are available at both of our full-day facilities (South College Field House and Moby).
- This program is on a drop-in basis. No prior registration or notification is required.
- Please note this is unstructured time for the campers under the supervision of our staff. While we have some smaller activities such as coloring pages, card games, etc., campers are welcome to bring their own camp-appropriate activity. Items such as electronic devices and Pokémon cards are allowed during this time as long as content is appropriate, but must be put away during normal camp hours of 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Find out more on our Before and After Camp Care section on our Camp Details page.
Can I drop my child off late or pick up early if I need to?
If you will be picking up your child early, please inform camp staff beforehand, such as during drop off or by phone call. Our camps may move throughout the day for special activities, so unannounced early pick up may lead to delays in your schedule. Calling the YSC office at (970) 491-6318 at least 15 minutes beforehand is strongly encouraged so we may appropriately inform our staff.
How do I pay?
- Credit card payment can be done through your online YSC account. We cannot take credit card payment in person or over the phone.
- Check or cash (exact amount preferred) payment can be done in person or mailed. Checks can be made out to Youth Sport Camps, or YSC. Returned checks will incur an additional $25 charge.
- Before and After Care payment can be made upon drop-off or pick-up via exact cash or check, or the charge will be added to your online account the following week for payment via credit card.

Any other helpful hints to get us started?
- Spray sunscreen is an amazing, time-saving invention. Please send your child with a bottle.
- Label. Every. Single. Thing. (Especially those nifty, new YSC water bottles!)
- We love to see campers go all out on spirit days. Every week has a different theme for Friday spirit day! Nothing to wear for that week’s theme? Any YSC camp shirt magically goes perfectly with any theme.
- We have multiple locations for our camps. Make sure to check your camp’s location beforehand to avoid any Monday morning mix-ups (and resulting headaches).
- “Glenn Morris Field House at the South College gym” = aka “South College” = aka “the fieldhouse” (It’s a mouthful, so please forgive our various names for this location.)
- Camp Coordinators = folks in green polos on Mondays = supreme rulers of each camp, its schedule, and its programming.
- Campers receive a YSC t-shirt during their first week of camp with us each summer. They receive a YSC water bottle during their second week of camp. T-shirts and water bottles are handed out on Thursdays. (Super Sport campers will receive both a t-shirt and water bottle on the second Wednesday of the camp.)
- Bringing toys from home usually results in tears when they have to be put away, or when their cherished toy gets misplaced. We suggest leaving those at home. We’ll be sure to have a lot of fun at camp without them!
How is my camper transported for field trips?
All off campus field trips include chartered bus transportation. We hire CSU transportation services and travel in coach buses with professional drivers.
What kind of training do the counselors get?
Each member of our staff (coordinators, counselors, lifeguards, administrators) is certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED usage. We have a thorough staff orientation during the week prior to camps (including child behavior information, concussion protocols, emergency procedures, and basic education information), and every staff member must pass a thorough criminal background and driving record check prior to being hired at YSC.
How can I switch a camp registration?
- There is a $15 rescheduling fee if you need to change sessions. This must be done via telephone or in person. There is not an online option for this.
Find out more on our Cost Per Session section on our Camp Details page.
How do I cancel a camp?
- We have a nonrefundable $25 cancellation fee if cancelling a session at least two weeks before that session’s start date. The full $50 deposit will be forfeited if cancelling less than two weeks before the start date.
- Refunds cannot be processed for $10 or less.
Find out more on our Cost Per Session section on our Camp Details page.
What if my child is injured?
Injuries are common in sports. Minor sprains and bumps happen every day. All of our staff members are first aid certified, so we can handle the little bumps and bruises that happen regularly. In the rare cases that are more than minor, you’ll receive a phone call, so be sure to keep your contact information updated. We’ll take appropriate action to make sure your child gets the care they need. We have an urgent care center on campus, the campus police department is 0.2 miles from our location, and there is a level 1 Trauma hospital just two miles away.
What do you do in bad weather?
We always try to stay outside, if possible. But, in cases of extreme weather, we have inside locations for our programming. We have designated tornado and flood procedures and locations, and we use a Thor-Gard lightning detection system – if there is a weather threat, we come inside immediately. Safety first!
