Need a place to feel inspired? Our Ideation Lab is a space that can be reserved for interdisciplinary creative thinking. It supports ideation processes from the low tech (think sticky notes and glass markers) to high tech – with our room scale virtual reality system, the HTC Vive Pro. Located along Inspiration Alley, the Ideation Lab has already hosted two hackathons.

Many of our toolbox courses start in the computer lab, often pulling from the Adobe Creative Suite. Understanding the software behind the equipment in the prototype lab is key to operating it. Plus it teaches you how to create as the options are limitless!

In addition, on the first floor of the RDC you will find the CHHS computer lab. This is the first virtual reality college teaching lab on campus, available to all students enrolled in a CHHS course. Powerful computers are loaded with many industry-standard 3D modeling and 2D graphics software programs, as well as virtual reality creation software Unity and Unreal Engine. Each of the 49 teaching lab computers has a Samsung Odyssey virtual reality headset available for checkout.

Ideation Lab Calendar

The calendar displayed is updated weekly. Please submit an Ideation Lab Reservation Request 3-14 days prior to desired use. An RDC email confirmation is required before requested room use.

Make sure you’ve completed the required orientation via Canvas before reserving equipment. Don’t have access to our Canvas page? Stop into the Prototype Lab to purchase a Lab Access Membership. Consult your instructor if you think you’re registered in a class with an RDC Lab course fee.
