Evaluating Cognitive Outcome Measures in Down syndrome
This study invites participants with Down syndrome, ages 6 to 17 years, to complete four project visits over the course of one year. The goal of this study is to identify the measures that best capture thinking skills in learners with Down syndrome. This project also invites families who participated in our previous study, “Cognition in individuals with Down syndrome,” to continue with additional research visits with our team.
How much time will this take?
Families will participate in five study visits over the course of one year. Each visit will be about 2 hours long.
Who can participate? And where?
Children and adolescents with Down syndrome ages 6 to 17 years can enroll in this project. Caregivers are also asked to complete questionnaires and one virtual parent interview as part of participation in this project.
Where do I participate?
Families can participate in Fort Collins and Denver. Visits are scheduled at times that are convenient for families, including after school and weekends.
Who is doing this study?
Dr. Deborah Fidler is completing this study in collaboration with Dr. Anna Esbensen, a clinical psychologist at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and Medical Center.
