Are you interested in gaining hands-on research experience to explore how scientific studies are conducted? Want to learn more about emotions, social relationships, health, lifespan development, and/or aging? If you answered yes to any of these questions, consider joining the Health, Emotion, and Aging Research Team as a research assistant!
As a HEART research assistant, you will earn research course credits, gain valuable research experience and skills, and be an integral part of a dynamic and collaborative team. You can also earn a letter of recommendation from Dr. Luong for graduate school and job applications.
We are looking for qualified undergraduates to join our team (4 positions open)! Primary duties involve data collection (interviewing research participants, collecting lab data), entering data, and recruiting research participants in the community (e.g., older adults). Other duties may involve data coding and analysis, literature reviews, and contacting community collaborators on projects. We have biweekly lab meetings to discuss the research projects.
Students must have at least a 3.0 GPA and be willing to commit to at least 2 semesters in the lab. Students should sign up for at least 3 credits (9 lab hours/week)
Email HEART@colostate.edu for an application and more information. Recruiting will continue on a rolling basis until positions are filled but priority will be given to applications submitted sooner.
Volunteer with us
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the concern for the health and safety of research participants, Colorado State University has suspended all nonessential research activities. Although we are not currently enrolling volunteers in our studies, we are still available to answer your questions about our research and get you on the study waitlist if you are interested. Please call our lab at (970) 491-0871 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will resume regular research activities as soon as it is considered safe to do so.
