Are you interested in the connection between nutrition and fitness?

Earn your degree in nutrition and fitness, including sports nutrition and wellness. This concentration combines nutrition and exercise-related coursework with hands-on experiences to prepare you for employment opportunities in the healthcare industry. Typical job titles include:

  • Sports Nutritionist
  • Personal Trainer
  • Group Fitness Instructor
  • Wellness Coordinator

* The Nutrition and Fitness Concentration can be combined with the Master of Public Health program where you can earn your bachelor’s degree and a Master of Public Health degree in five years saving you time and money!

PRACTICUMS Hands-On Learning Opportunities

Counseling Practicum

Work alongside registered dietitians and gain real-world experience in our department’s nutrition counseling center – the Kendall Reagan Nutrition Center – open to CSU affiliates and the surrounding Northern Colorado community.

Sports Nutrition Practicum

Work with CSU’s Director of Sports Nutrition to gain experience on providing nutrition education to CSU athletes

Food Service Practicum

Work at an approved site in the food service sector to gain experience such as developing menus, ordering, purchasing, food safety, and management.

Our students can apply for the opportunity to represent the department as student ambassadors for recruitment and events.

Paying for College

Advising and Support

At least once per semester, you will meet with your academic success coordinator, who can help you answer questions about which majors and careers might be right for you, what courses and extracurricular activities will help you prepare, and how to stay on track for graduation.
