Teaching Adoptive Parents Trauma-Informed Parenting
TAPT-in Parenting partners with community agencies to hear the voices of adoptive parents of children with a trauma history, and to develop and evaluate programs to address their families’ needs.
Vision statement: Adoptive and prospective adoptive parents and their children feel validated and supported by one another and by those working with them.
Mission statement: We collaborate with adoptive and prospective families to provide them with a safe place to discuss their feelings and experiences, to honor the uniqueness of each family, and to provide families with tools that help them understand the effects of trauma and how to deal with those effects throughout the lifespan.
