Scheduling and Documentation
We have the infrastructure to handle all your research participant scheduling, dispensing, and documentation. And we are trained to manage your data following Good Clinical Practice. Using the REDcap system will further enhance your team’s ability to access your data securely and on-demand.
Training
Our team has extensive experience conducting clinical trials using GCP standards. We ensure each research team is fully trained to safely conduct research at the HPCRL. We build your training plan based on the scope of your project. We are additionally equipped to offer CPR training for CSU faculty and staff.
Blood Draws and Analysis
HPCRL staff can handle all your blood draw needs. Our team routinely conducts finger sticks, venous blood draws, and venous catheter placements. Our on-site analyzers give you rapid results for real-time studies, and we offer competitive pricing for a variety of additional blood testing.
Body Composition
Our staff is able to conduct DEXA scans and additional body composition measurements based on your study needs. We can also help you build a more complete profile by adding a resting metabolic rate analysis.
Performance Testing
We offer an array of sub max and VO2 max testing plans based on your study needs. We are equipped to handle lactate testing and can safely conduct testing on healthy and higher-risk populations.

Performance Testing
The room has power requirements to perform multiple stress tests with treadmills, cycle ergometers, or a Kickr Smart Trainer while capturing expired gases using metabolic carts and recording ECG traces. The room will also house a multi-use exam table, and is equipped with a sink, counter space, storage cabinets for miscellaneous consumables, supplies, and equipment.
Blood Draw Room
Contains an exam table and blood draw supplies for screening and follow up visits. This room also includes a centrifuge, piccolo blood analyzer, and Afinion A1C blood analyzer.
Clinical Space
Our clinical rooms have a research bed, sink, and storage cabinets. These rooms are typically used for muscle and adipose tissue biopsies, blood sample screenings, resting metabolic rate, and oral glucose tolerance measurements. The room has the power requirements for a centrifuge to spin blood samples and for instrument sterilization equipment.
Freezer Room
Seven ultra-low freezers with remote temperature monitoring and backup power. Additional bench space for quickly banking and securing your samples.
Multi-Purpose Bench Space
Designed with space to prepare samples and hold equipment while running tests and procedures.
Environmental Chamber
Allows you to manipulate atmospheric environments and simulated normobaric high altitude conditions for your studies.
