Software Available to Students in Computer Labs
Software Available to Students for Home Use
A limited number of software packages are available to our students for use on their home computers. Please note that the college is not responsible for supporting the installation or troubleshooting of these packages. When registering and downloading software from these sites, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions specific to that software vendor.
- Autodesk software packages are available for free to students through Autodesk’s Education Community. Students will need to register and log in before downloading the software.
- MATLAB is available to students, faculty, and staff. Individual users can download and install MATLAB by visiting the MathWork’s self-service portal, clicking “Get started today” under “Download MATLAB”, and signing in with their eID. A MathWorks account will be required for activation. When installing the software, choose “Total Academic Headcount” for the license type.
- Microsoft Office – Microsoft Office 2016 Pro Plus is available to all students, faculty, and staff for home use. Users can download and use Microsoft Office on up to five personal computers as long as they are affiliated with CSU. For instructions and more information, visit CSU’s mail help site.
- PDF Creation Software – to create PDFs for free, students can use freeware called CutePDF.
- Qualtrics is available to all University students, faculty, and staff. To access, visit CSU’s Qualtrics site and log in with your eID and ePassword.
- SPSS is available to students, faculty, and staff through Citrix (virtual desktop).
Software Available to Faculty and Staff for Work
- Antivirus – For Windows, Microsoft System Center Endpoint Protection is available to college faculty and staff and installed by default. For Mac, the college recommends and installs Avast.
- AutoDesk is available by request and only for college instructors who teach using AutoDesk products.
- EndNote is available to college faculty and staff. Installed by default.
- LabView is available by request to college faculty and staff.
- MATLAB is available to students, faculty, and staff. Individual users can download and install MATLAB by visiting the MathWork’s self-service portal, clicking “Get started today” under “Download MATLAB”, and signing in with their eID. - Nvivo is available by request to all college faculty and staff.
