How the Tutorials are Organized

The tutorials are organized by three categories:

  • Core Concepts: These are aspects of accessibility that apply across all types of documents and content, whether websites or PDF files.
  • Specific Content Types: These tutorials show how to implement the core concepts in specific software, focusing on step-by-step instructions.
  • Accessibility Testing Tools: There are several tools available to help you test for accessibility. Different content types need different testing tools.

Use the Rubric

The Electronic Accessibility Rubric is an additional tool that can help you prioritize the most important tasks for each document type. Many of the tutorials are organized by the steps in the rubric. Select one or two steps at a time. Once you feel comfortable with one step as part of your workflow, choose another.

Accessibility is a continuum. Our goal is to move along the continuum towards better and better accessibility. Every  step we take makes our campus more inclusive.
