Social Work On-Campus MSW Program Options

Choose the path that best meets your personal and professional goals. On-Campus MSW programs

Program Options:

  • Full-Time
  • Advanced Standing
  • MSW/MACP Joint Degree
  • MSW/MPH Dual Degree

If you are in a two-year program, you can also complete a graduate certificate through the Center for Lifelong Learning, Outreach, and Education.

Please Note: Graduate certificates are offered through CSU Online, which can impact cost of tuition. For more information, refer to the MSW Program Handbook.

MSW Curriculum

Full Time MSW Curriculum

Our full-time MSW is on campus following the traditional academic calendar for two years, starting in mid-August.

Advanced Standing MSW Curriculum

Our Advanced Standing students hold a BSW degree. The program lasts one full calendar year, consisting of three semesters, starting in mid-May.

MSW/MACP Joint Degree

Combine the ethics and values of social work with Addictions Counseling in Psychology. Your commitment to social justice for all and clinical practice have a home in CSU’s joint MSW/MACP Master’s Degree Program. There is an ever growing need for licensed addictions counselors to advance the health and well-being of our communities.

MSW/MPH Dual Degree

Combine your passion for helping people and communities with your passion for protecting health and well-being at large. In partnership with the Colorado School of Public Health, earn your MSW and MPH on the Fort Collins Campus, and take advantage of curriculum efficiencies in this unique program.

MSW Programs: No BSW or GRE required to apply.

MSW Advanced Standing Programs: BSW required, no GRE.

Note to applicants of all MSW program options: We strongly encourage you to submit your application by the priority deadline. All parts of the application, including transcripts and references, must be received before an application can be considered. The application may close after the priority deadline but before the final deadline contingent upon the volume of applications received. 

Note to those who are also applying for scholarships: Submitting your application by the priority deadline helps with meeting the separate scholarship application timeline.
