Is your child interested in honing their cooking and baking skills while learning about nutrition? The Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition offers summer cooking camps for youth ages 9-12. Camp registration will open on Jan. 3 for the summer 2024 camps. See photos from our 2023 camps!
Summer Camp Information
Camp Details
Location: 502 W. Lake St.
Monday – Thursday 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Friday – 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Cost: $350 per camper (scholarships applications will be available)

Camp 1 - Baking Extravaganza
Spend each day baking breads, quiche, muffins, cookies, cakes, and more!

Camp 2 - Global Tastebuds
Spend each day making entrees and desserts from around the world. We will focus on Japan, Australia, Chile, and Scotland!

Volunteers Needed!
Do you have a teenager (ages 15-17) who would like to volunteer by assisting our camp instructors? or Do you work on CSU campus and have time in the summer to come help us out for a week volunteering? Reach out to Zara Hopkins, camp director, for more information.

- 8:45 – 9 a.m. – Arrival
- 9 – 9:15 a.m. – Introduction to the day’s activities
- 9:15 – 10:45 a.m. – Kitchen Time
- 10:45 – 11 a.m. – Sampling
- 11 – 11:45 a.m. – Crafts
- 11:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. – Lunch
- 12:30 – 2 p.m. – Kitchen Time
- 2 – 2:15 p.m. – Sampling
- 2:15 – 3 p.m. – Cleanup!
- 3 – 3:30 p.m. – Outdoor activity
- 3:30 – 4 p.m. – Pickup
