“Hey yall!
My name is Alejandra, and it brings me immense joy to be sharing my story with all of you. I am a fourth-year student pursuing Biomedical Sciences and Ethnic Studies. As the Director of Health for ASCSU during the 2021-2022 academic year, I was determined to make a lasting impact. I firmly believe that we can all be agents of change, and I wanted to bring The Body Project to CSU as a way of inspiring positive change in our community.
As someone who has struggled with negative body image and an eating disorder for most of my life, I understand firsthand how it feels to believe that our bodies will never be enough. That is why I am passionate about destigmatizing the conversations surrounding our bodies and encouraging everyone to view themselves with kindness and positivity. The Body Project is not just a workshop, but a powerful movement that inspires people to embrace their bodies, no matter their shape, size, or identity.
For me, bringing The Body Project to CSU was a personal passion project. I wanted to create a safe and welcoming space for female-identifying and non-binary individuals to come together, share their experiences, and learn how to build a positive body image. I know that there are many others out there who are going through similar struggles, and I believe that by sharing our stories, we can uplift each other and create a supportive community.
So, I encourage you all to be part of this powerful movement that promotes self-love, positivity, and compassion. Together, we can break down barriers and embrace the beauty of our bodies.”
