The Lighten the Load Fund was established in 2020 to provide emergency financial support to CSU College of Health and Human Sciences students experiencing unforeseen financial hardship affecting their academic success. From a medical emergency to an unexpected living or transportation expense, the Lighten the Load Fund supports CHHS students with an unexpected financial crisis that impedes students’ ability to pursue their degrees.

If you are currently enrolled in the College of Health and Human Sciences and are experiencing an unforeseen and/or emergency need for financial resources, please complete this application.

Please note that the Lighten the Load emergency funds will not cover tuition, school fees, or other planned expenses. For additional support regarding nonemergency financial support, please see the list of community resources available to Colorado State University students.

The Lighten the Load Funding grant eligibility is available to students during any semester they are enrolled and taking classes. Please first sign in to Office 365 in order to access the application.
