About the METEOR Lab
The METEOR (Meaningful Measurement in Rehabilitation Research) lab focuses on enhancing outcome measurement in healthcare, specifically rehabilitation. The lab evaluates and refines measurement tools, examines the implementation of measurement information in clinical practice, and promotes shared decision making between patients, families, and rehabilitation practitioners by facilitating interpretation of assessment results information.
Dr. Jennifer Weaver is the Director of the METEOR lab and collaborates with researchers, practitioners, and people who have interacted with the healthcare system (e.g., family care partners and survivors of a brain injury). As a team, we work together to develop new approaches to examine and facilitate shared decision-making and dissemination of findings. By conducting rigorous research, the lab aims to improve the accuracy and meaningfulness of outcome assessments, empower patients and family care partners in their healthcare decisions, identify strategies for improved implementation, and foster collaboration within the rehabilitation community. Ultimately, the METEOR lab plays a crucial role in advancing outcome measurement practices to optimize patient care and outcomes in rehabilitation settings.
